FOREST INVENTORY FIELD DATA COLLECTION AND DATA ANALYSIS CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING

Mongolia has submitted the “Forest Reference Level” Report to The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in January 2018.  National Multi-Purpose Forest Inventory database was being used for this report development process and as used as main data source.

    

In the future, the National Multi-Purpose Forest Inventory database will be developed to make better forest policy, plans and decision making on regional and aimag level, to provide a condition for the users easy and prompt delivery of the information and data required for the research work and to organize a required training for aimag, soum and local forest unit and forestry specialists with the purpose to strength their capacities for developing the spatial and statistical forest resource data in local level.

The Mongolian UN-REDD National Program implementation unit, German International Cooperation Agency in collaboration with the Forest research and Development Center of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism therefore giving 6-day capacity building training to the forest unit specialists from April 15 to 21, 2018 in order to use and update information to the National Multi-Purpose Forest Inventory database, and to prepare a spatial and statistical data.
